Gather the real contents
Start with the proposal, welcome documents or sales material that the folder needs to carry. Check the page dimensions and the thickness of the complete stack. The folder should support the contents without making the package awkward to handle.
Put the pockets to work
Consider which documents belong on each side and whether a business card needs a dedicated slot. Keep useful information visible when the folder opens. Pocket layout and capacity should be confirmed with the chosen folder structure.
Keep the cover focused
A folder does not need to repeat every detail inside it. A clear identity, a well-placed graphic or a short title can be enough. Review how artwork travels around the fold and how the outside connects to the inside.
Build a coordinated set
Use the same typographic system across the folder, business card and documents. Coordination comes from consistent decisions, not from making every item identical. Confirm the folder template before finalizing the artwork.
